Okay, I haven't been here for a long LONG time, but I never meant to be a serious blogger anyway. So here I am in Melbourne, life's been busierthan ever, tests, pracs, homework...... Sigh but since I'm in the mood I'll write about my friend Ee's birthday. We went to this buffet restaurant called Kitchen Workshop in the fancy precinct of Southbank, in the same building as the renowned Crown Casino ( too bad she wasn't in a gambling mood! )

It was meant to be a surprise and itworked quite well, despite a few sputters. Her face when she arrived was hilarious, especially because it was completely blank. She was like,"Aren't you supposed to be in church?" And I'm like," Obviously I had to come up with something or this wouldn't be a surprise!"
Anyway on to the food!
Clockwise from left : Fried fish with tartar sauce and lemon, chicken sausages, mashed potatoes, bread roll and Crown's own butter!
I must say that the food here is quite superb, the fried fish was NOT dory much to my delight! It was crisp, not too oily and not drowning in breadcrumbs. The chicken sausages were alright, sausages aren't really my thing. Mashed potatoes was good, nice and creamy but the bread roll, Ohmygod was SO good. I ate 5 that day, buttered at all. *Groan while clutching enlarging tummy*
On to the desserts
I took the caramel mousse, panna cotta and cheesecake. Well I had more than that, but was too high on feasting overdrive to take photos. Kitchen Workshop has a WIDE selection of desserts, always highly acclaimed by those who visit this restaurant. And indeed there is a vast sea of delightful desserts, waiting for you to sample, to ooh and aah over. The caramel mousse was good, nice and light, the panna cotta was a bit disappointing, too hard, too much gelatin? While the cheesecake was so-so.
All in all for AUD $17.50 this buffet lunch was very "value-for-money".The food is good, service is fast and the atmosphere is very nice and relaxed, the restaurant was pristine too. Definitely a place to come to if you want to have buffet but a bit short for money.
